In January 2009 it was located in Alton, Illinois, where the National Park Service first listed it in November, 2007. It has since been dismantled and moved in pieces to St. Elmo, IL, near Effingham. Local businesspeople hope to re-assemble the ship as a non-floating tourist attraction and hotel. However, they cannot finance it to be put up again.
