On Friday 8th July 2022 Mike KE5AKL a radio amateur from Alburquerque, NM reached the summit of Timber Peak and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 49 contacts in total working on the 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
