Tony Hsieh was an American Internet entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He retired as the CEO of the online shoe and clothing company Zappos in August 2020 after 21 years.
In November 2020, Hsieh was staying with family at this home in New London, CT. In the early morning of 25 NOV 2020, firefighters were called to the scene of the home. One person, later revealed to be Hseih, was rescued from the home where he had become trapped and was later taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of serious burns and smoke inhalation. On 27 NOV 2020, he died due to complications related to his injuried.
