Twelve Tribes is a new religious movement founded by Gene Spriggs (now known as Yoneq) that sprang out of the Jesus movement in 197] in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The group calls itself an attempt to recreate the 1st-century church in the Book of Acts.

They chose to live like the Christians of the first century, even sharing the same house between different families. Its members gave up all their assets to be part of the movement.
