On Tuesday 21st March 2023, Yasuo JH0ROI/7, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Ushiroeboshidake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 30 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 30 metre HF amateur radio bands.
