The Taquaruçu Hydroelectric Plant is located on the Paranapanema River between the municipalities of Sandovalina (SP) and Itaguajé (PR), dividing the two states, 80 km downstream from the Capivara plant and 125 km upstream from the mouth of the Paranapanema on the Paraná River, close to the confluence of the Pirapozinho and Pirapó rivers. It is managed by CTG Brasil (China Three Gorges Corporation).
