On Friday 29th March 2024 at 10:27 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM, a radio amateur from Croatia made contact with Thomas F4FTJ/P, a radio amateur from France who was operating from Vallées de la Grand-pierre et de Vitain (FFF-3601), on the 20m amateur radio band. Thomas made a total of 117 contacts while at the reserve.
Vallées de la Grand-pierre et de Vitain (FFF-3601), is a protected area of 296 hectares in the communes of Marolles and Averdon to the north-east of Tours in France. It was designated in 1979 as a National Nature Reserve and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
