1940's movie star, Veronica Lake, and her second husband, movie producer, Andre De Toth, purchased a 23 acre estate in May 1946 for $300,000 and resided there until 1951, when they both filed for bankruptcy after owing over $62,000 in taxes. The ranch was demolished in 1972 and is now the site of a gated community called "Monteria Estates".
