On Wednesday 27th March 2024 at 11:07 UTC, Mike DJ9BX, a radio amateur from Germany, made contact with Roland DK5RL/P, a radio amateur from Germany, who was operating from Vierteich Freitelsdorf (DLFF-1066), on the 40m amateur radio band. Roland made a total of 93 contacts while at the reserve.
Vierteich Freitelsdorf (DLFF-1066), is a protected area of 59.74 hectares lying to the north of Dresden in Saxony, Germany. It was designated as a Nature Reserve in 2016 and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
IUCN Management Category IV areas are areas to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
