On Sunday 6th November 2022, Bruno TI3/HB9CDH/P and Fredi TI3/HB9BHU/P, two radio amateurs from Switzerland reached the summit of Volcan Irazu (Cima Torre) and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 107 contacts in total working on the 12 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Volcan Irazu (Cima Torre) is 3428 metres (11247 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
