On Saturday 8th October 2022, SandraW7NRS and Charlie NJ7V, a couple of radio amateurs from Mesa, AZ reached the summit of Whiting Knoll and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 16 contacts in total working on the 20 metre HF amateur radio band.
