On Saturday 27th August 2022, Sylvia OE5YYN/P, Daniel OE5HDX/P and Joe OE5JFE/P, three radio amateurs from Austria reached the summit of Wildspitze and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 35 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Wildspitze is 3768 metres (12362 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
