William W. Boeschenstein is the retired Chairman and CEO of Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation, the largest manufacturer of fiberglass and related products on the world. His father, Harold, was the first member of the family to be the company's chairman. He was put in charge in 1938 when the company was formed by the Owens-Illinois Corporation and Corning Glass Works to manufacture glass fibers and develop new technology. William joined the company in 1950 after graduation from Yale University and was named president and COO in 1971, CEO two years later and chairman in 1981.
