Collatos, also known as Bill, is founder of Spectrum Equity.

Spectrum Equity is an American growth equity firm that invests in businesses related to the information economy. The company operates out of offices in Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA.

He has been a Director of Nassau Broadcasting Partners, L.P. since May 2000. Mr. Collatos serves as a Director of RCN Telecom Services, Inc., CBSI, Cable, RiskMetrics Group, LLC, Intersections Insurance Services, Inc., Patriot Media, Puerto Rico Cable Acquisition Company Inc., Seisint, Inc., Eutelsat Communications S.A., and Experian Health, Inc.

He was a Founder and General Partner of Great Hill Partners. Prior to this, Mr. Collatos was a General Partner at TA Associates and Media/Communications Partners (MC Partners). From 1980 to 1990, he held a variety of positions with TA Associates. Mr. Collatos began his career as a Banker, lending money to startups eventually heading the Media Lending Group at FleetBoston Financial Corp. He served as a Director at Egenera Inc. since October 2000.

Mr. Collatos holds an A.B. degree in Economics, cum laude, from Harvard College, Harvard University.
