Zharkent Mosque

The Mosque built shortly after the town of Zharkent became part of Tsarist Russia. The cost of construction was met by a Valiakum Yudashev a Uighyr and local merchant.

The Mosque was built to the design of a Chinese architect Hong Pik, which helps explain the Chinese influences apparent in the building.
