The California Office of Historic Preservation has this old church listed as a point of interest, and the Native Daughters of the Golden West installed a plaque here. The historical society restored the steeple in 1974. The Greek Revival building stands out in a town which was founded as a Spanish mission and whose architecture is mostly adobe mission style.
