Noorderkerk

The monumental Noorderkerk was built in the beginning of the 17th century. It was the second Protestant church in Holland. The people of the Jordaan neighborhood had finally convinced the city council that the distance to the Westerkerk was too far and that they needed their own church. To this very day, the Noorderkerk is the focal point of a flourishing Protestant community. (holland.com)
