There are a few of these as well as air search radars all along the valley. While we were in Trona a B-52 came lumbering up the valley at relatively low altitude so I assume this is some form of instrumented range. |

China Lake is nearby, they design and test bombs there. Years ago, my dad (who is a mathematician) was drafted during Viet Nam, and was stationed at China Lake, designing missiles and bombs. As an intelligent man, he objected to the war and his part in it... |
