The Hardy Tree at St Pancras Old Churchyard

The author Thomas Hardy was working as a stone mason and architect in his younger ages before becoming an author.

During that time he worked at the cemetery here excavating graves. He placed the old gravestones here in a circle around a tree and that tree grew up and made this sight.
