Much of this imagery is actually taken from high flying aircraft rather than satellites. As the camera aircraft flies it takes a picture which is then stitched to other pictures to form the blanket coverage.
In this case the camera aircraft was flying from west to east at appx the same relative speed of the aircraft taking off and landing. As camera took each frame of the picture the aircraft below was constantly moving into the new frame. Each of those frames was then...

Please make sure you are submitting interesting bridges. It would be no challenge to just slide across the map picking every bridge you find. What's the fun in that? Please select interesting bridges. Post some info about them. Add some links. Look at some of the other bridges submitted by WacoKidd and Mike and the others if you don't know what I mean. Thanks. More than just a cargo plane. That's a P-3 Orion antisubmarine aircraft. That long boom off the rear is used to isolate a magnetic detector from the rest of the plane. As it flies over the water the "MAD Boom" detects variations in magnetic fields that indicate a sub below the water. Great catch!
I remember seeing this house and asking about it from a local. They referred to it as the Singer Mansion. As in Singer sewing machine. I've googled around though and can't fin d anything to back that up. It really does dominate the view from the harbor though.
