Space Station Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) (StreetView)
A Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) is a large pressurized container used on Space Shuttle missions for transfering cargo to and from the Space Station. The MPLM was carried in the cargo bay of a Space Shuttle. It was berthed to one of the modules on the ISS. From there, supplies were delivered, and finished experiments and waste were transferred back to the module. The MPLM was then returned to Earth by the Space Shuttle.
