On 6/2/2023, 3 trains collided near the city of Balasore, in Odisha, eastern India. 2 passenger trains collided after an initial collision involving a goods train near Bahanaga Bazar railway station. At least 296 people were killed in the crash and over 1,200 others were injured.
The crash was India's deadliest railway crash in over twenty years, and the deadliest worldwide since the 2004 Sri Lanka tsunami train wreck.
