Akkajaure Reservoir in northern Sweden is one of the largest reservoirs in the country. It depth varies between 30m (98ft) and 92m (302ft) as it is used for hyroelectric power geneartion.
Akkajaure Reservoir is located in the Stora Sjöfallet national park, Norrbotten County, Swedish Lappland in the headwater of the Lule River.
Th reservoir resulted from the construction of the first Suorva dam between 1913 and 1923, and the current dam is 453m (1,486ft) high.
