On Saturday 1st April 2023, Elena EA4DOS/P and EA4DON/P, a couple of radio amateurs from Spain reached the summit of Alto del Calar del Gallinero and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 46 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Alto del Calar del Gallinero is 2049 metres (6722 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
