Barking Creek Barrier (Birds Eye)
Barking Creek Barrier is a part of London's defences against flooding. It was completed in 1983 and stands about 60 metres tall and has a large gate that is lowered to seal off the River Roding from the River Thames should there be a risk of flooding. The gate weighs in at 300 tonnes.
