On Thursday 21st July 2022 a group of French radio amateurs using the callsign TM1SOTA reached the summit of Caïre Archas and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group. The special callsign “TM1SOTA” was being used to mark the occasion of the 15th anniversary of SOTA.

They made 68 contacts in total working on the 60, 40, 30, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Caïre Archas is 2632 metres (8635 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
