On Saturday 2nd July 2022 a group of French radio amateurs using the callsign TM1SOTA reached the summit of Mont Pépoiri activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group. The special callsign “TM1SOTA” was being used to mark the occasion of the 15th anniversary of SOTA.
They made 77 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 60, 40, 30, 20 and 17metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Mont Pépoiri is 2674 metres (8773 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
