The Children's Museum of History, Science and Technology, also known as The Children's Museum of History and Science in Utica, New York, is a hands-on learning center with emphasis on local history, environmental science, the arts, space science, technology and science. Organized in 1963 by the Junior League, in the basement of the Utica Public Library, in 1979, the museum was relocated to its present location in the historic Bagg's Square area. In 2002, the Children's Museum became the only museum in the country to be adopted by NASA and the Department of Energy's Office of Science. The museum is housed in the historic John C. Hieber Building; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.[1] Its hundreds of interactive exhibits on its four floors are designed to provide an educationally enjoyable environment for kids from 1 to 101.
