This church is located in the small village of Rubiães in northern Portugal. The church and the village are on the Caminho de Santiago the medieval pilgrimage route to Santiago de Campostela.
Architecturally the church is Romanesque in style. The church was first established in the 12th century and was enlarged in the 16th and 17th century when it became the parochial church of Rubiães.
It has a simple longitudinal plan with a single nave and is constructed predominantly from granite.
The church is listed as a Portuguese National Monument
