'Church of the Most Precious Blood' by Andrew Geller

'Church of the Most Precious Blood' by Andrew Geller

Davis Park, New York (NY), US
1961
In August 1961, the local archbishop came out to consecrate the new church and Geller. Immediately after the service, Geller suited up and dove into the ocean only to be caught in a very strong undertow and pulled far from shore. He survived to tell the tale.

"Beach House" by Alistair Gordon lists this church on Lija Beach. The beach is actually spelled LEJA Beach named after the 4 men who opened the first restaurant in Davis Park - Lee Coffin, Ed Sembler, Joe Gerard, and Al Brown
