On Sunday 7th August 2022 Jo F/I1WKN/P and Riccardo F/IZ1GDB two radio amateurs from Italy reached the summit of Cime du Laro and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 70 contacts in total working on the 2 metre and 6 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Cime du Laro is 2881 metres (9452 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
