On Friday 17th November 2023, Pat K7GUD, a radio amateur from Victor, ID reached the summit of Cochise Head and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 70 contacts in total working on the 30m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Cochise Head is 2473 metres (8114 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
