A Bronze statue of Colin Minton Campbell by Sir Thomas Brock a nineteenth century English sculptor best known for the Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace.
In 1849 Campbell joined the Minton pottery partnership and took over the running of the business from his uncle Herbert Minton.
He became a leading figure in local politics becoming Mayor of Stoke in the early 1880. He was the MP for North Staffordshire between 1874 and 1880.
Other notable achievements were being appointed a Deputy Lieutenant and High Sheriff of Staffordshire, being a Justice of the Peace in Derbyshire and the Chairman of the North Staffordshire Railway Company.
