An original disection room at the historical Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, where anatomical dissecting was performed for instruction, research, or analysis.

In 1751, Dr. Thomas Bond concieved of Pennsylvania Hospital as a hospital "for the reception and cure of the sick poor... free of charge", with the first facility opening in 1752. In 1755, the cornerstone was laid for a perminant hospitlal, of which the building still exists today next to a modern facility.
