On Tuesday 2nd April 2024 at 13:27 UTC, Dieter DL5XDL, a radio amateur from Germany, made contact with Lukas DM6LE/P, a radio amateur from Germany who was operating from Ehrenbürg NSG (DLFF-0398), on the 40m amateur radio band.
Ehrenbürg NSG (DLFF-0398), is a protected area of 161.39 hectares, lying to the north of Nuremberg in the state of Bavaria, Germany. It was designated as a Nature Reserve in 1987 and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area Is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
Lukas was at the summit of Rodenstein (532 metres asl) while he was at the reserve and made a total of 26 contacts for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
