On Friday 7th July 2023, Igor OE/IV3NGF, a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Elferspitz and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 32 contacts in total working on the 2m, 60m, 40m, 20m and 17m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Elferspitz is 2254 metres (7395 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
