Erasmus Hall High School

Began in 1787 as Erasmus Hall Academy, Erasmus Hall is a New York City public high school. The original Academy building still stands in the courtyard of the current school, serving as a museum of the school’s long and colorful history.

Among well-known personalities who have attended Erasmus are Betty Comden, Neil Diamond, Bobby Fischer, Susan Hayward, Bernard Malamud, Beverly Sills, Mickey Spillane, Barbra Streisand, Eli Wallach, and Mae West.
