NAS Jacksonville. F/A-18 Hornet: This aircraft was dedicated on October 6, 1996 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Blue Angels at NAS Jacksonville. The name under the canopy is LCDR "Butch" Voris, who formed the Blue Angels at NAS Jacksonville in 1946. This plane was an actual Blue Angel aircraft prior to being stricken by the Navy due to reaching the end of its service life.

I'm sorry to say the Blue Angel pilot featured in this footage was killed on April, 21 2007 during an airshow crash, where, ironically, he is to believed to have lost consciousness during a high-g maneuver.
