On Saturday 4th March 2023, Tom OMSQ9FVE/P, a radio amateur from poland reached the summit of Gerlachovský štít and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 14 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Gerlachovský štít is 2654 metres (8707 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
