On Saturday 2nd July 2022 Rene HB9PIM a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Gipshorn and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 12 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
