On Wednesday 24th August 2022, Juerg HB9BIN/P and Eva HB9FPM/P two radio amateurs from Switzerland reached the summit of Grampielhorn and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 11 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Grampielhorn is 2764 metres (9068 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
