On Thursday 10th August 2023, Hans HB9BQU/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland, reached the summit of Rothorn and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 36 contacts in total working on the 40m and 30m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Rorhorn is 2813 metres (9229 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
