On Saturday 30th July 2022 Robert AE7AP a radio amateur from Helena, MT reached the summit of Granite Peak and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 41 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Granite Peak is 3225 metres (10581 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
