On Saturday 17th September 2022, JF3FGL/0 and 7N1FRE/0, two radio amateurs from Japan reached the summit of Harinokidake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 36 contacts in total working on the 70 cm UHF and the 40 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Renegade is 2821 metres (9255 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
