On Saturday 17th September 2022, JF3FGL/0 and 7N1FRE/0, two radio amateurs from Japan reached the summit of Rengedake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 13 contacts in total working on the 70 cm UHF and the 2 metre VHF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Rengedake is 2798 metres (9180 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
