On Saturday 19th August 2023, Bernhard OE6AOD/P, a radio amateur from Austria, reached the summit of Hemmerfeldeck and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 17 contacts in total working on the 2m and 20m amateur radio bands.
