On Saturday 16th September 2023, Peter OE5HPE/P, a radio amateur from Austria, reached the summit of Hochalmspitze (Hochalmer) and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 21 contacts in total working on the 2m and 20m amateur radio bands.
