On Sunday 4th September 2022, Christian HB9GIN/P and Manuel HB9DQM/P, two radio amateurs from Switzerland reached the summit of Hornspitz and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 39 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Hornspitz is 2537 metres (8323 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
