The Hyundai Entourage went on sale in April 2006 as a rebadged Kia Carnival Limousine, based on such to avoid cannibalizing sales of the mid-size Veracruz crossover, whose wheelbase was around the same as a standard-wheelbase Carnival/Sedona. Powered by the 3.8 L Lambda V6, the minivan came in three trim levels, which were the GLS (base model), SE (17" alloy wheels, dual power sliding rear doors, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, etc.) and the upscale Limited (Power liftgate, heated seats, seating memory system, among other features). While the Entourage was highly rated among critics such as Edmunds, who had recognized it as a best family car for 2009, for its safety as a 2007 "Gold Top Safety Pick" from the IIHS, and for its value as one of the cheapest to insure for 2009, but it was never a sales success, eventually being dropped from the lineup after that year.
