On Sunday 24th March 2024 at 08:02 UTC, Jacek SQ8ILJ, a radio amateur from Poland made contact with Pasi OH1MM/P, a radio amateur from Finland who was operating from Iissalon Ja Emäkarin Luonnonsuojelualue (OHFF-1763) on the 40m amateur radio band. Pasi made a total of 275 contacts while he was in the reserve.
Iissalon Ja Emäkarin Luonnonsuojelualue (OHFF-1763), is a protected area of 13 hectares located on an island Emänkari, in a lake, Pyhäjärvi, in south-western Finland. It was designated as a Private Nature Reserve and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
